The Beginning of a Blog

This initial post foreshadows many others as I begin the second month of retirement.  The first included closing two podiatry offices in Northern California, experiencing a major Napa earthquake, traveling to Rome and moving our second home to Berkeley.  As my wife says, we are experiencing a "new normal."  

I  look forward to exploring how to spend my time, what life has meant so far and whether there's anything left to accomplish nearing the age of 68.  While my wife continues to work, I am now at home with our dog Riley, alternating between Berkeley during the week and Yountville on weekends.
